A)
|
DRUG INTERACTIONS CHECKER FOR PRESCRIPTION (DICP) :-
|
|
|
We at DIC have created and launched first of its kind
in the country, our own indigenous CD based interactive software to detect Drug-drug
interactions for
five therapeutic systems (antihypertensive, antidiabetic,
antianginals, lipid lowering, antibiotics) as Part I and Part II would have checker
for Anti -T.B. and Anti-retrovirals (for H.I.V./AIDS).

PATIENT COUNSELING COURSE :-
MSPC's DIC has started training course in Patient Counseling
for Community pharmacists for the F I R S T time in
India
.

C)
|
WHO PROJECTS :-
DIC has completed following World Health Organization
funded projects :-
·
Drug Information Leaflets
(DILs).
Building
of
Database
of Brands of Pharmaceutical Formulations and study the cases of misbranding and
SALA Drugs responsible for medication errors in Maharashtra and
Gujarat
. More important is that now this software
tool has been published on WHO India country's official website and can be accessed
by link www.whoindia.org/en/Section2/Section5_1476.htm.
DIC also has completed two projects funded by DSPRUD/World
Health Organization :-

Training of General Practitioners
on Rational Use of Drugs as intervention to irrational prescribing using Time Series
Methodology.
·
Training of Community Pharmacists
on Rational Use of Drugs as intervention to Inappropriate Self-Medication practices
and lack of Patient Counseling.
