Penal removal of name under Section 36 of the Pharmacy Act,1948 and their

restoration under section 37  till 30th June,2010

®  Those pharmacists who are guilty of committing an act which amounts to  Professional misconduct are penalised by council and they are given either warning  or their names are temporarily or permanently removed from register of pharmacists.

 

®  No. of pharmacists whose names are removed permanently.                                                            

®  No. of pharmacists whose names are removed for temporary period.                                                    

®  No. of pharmacists to whom warning has been issued.

Refresher Courses  (Continued Education Programme - CEP) :

®  Council has in its premises Refresher Course Hall with required modern

      infrastructure. 

®   For registered pharmacists of Vidarbha  and Marathwada region, council has

      presently authorised a professional body CIPPARA, Nagpur to conduct R.C in

      that region.

HIGHLIGHTS  OF Work/ Projects Done And Undertaken By DRUG INFORMATION CENTER

Drug Information Centre (DIC) :       

A)

DRUG INTERACTIONS CHECKER FOR PRESCRIPTION (DICP) :-

 

We at DIC have created and launched first of its kind in the country, our own indigenous CD based interactive software to detect Drug-drug interactions for five therapeutic systems (antihypertensive, antidiabetic, antianginals, lipid lowering, antibiotics) as Part I and Part II would have checker for Anti -T.B. and Anti-retrovirals (for H.I.V./AIDS).

PATIENT COUNSELING COURSE :-

MSPC's DIC has started training course in Patient Counseling for Community pharmacists for the F I R S T time in India .

C)

WHO PROJECTS :-

DIC has completed following World Health Organization funded projects :-

·                     Drug Information Leaflets (DILs).

Building of Database of Brands of Pharmaceutical Formulations and study the cases of misbranding and SALA Drugs responsible for medication errors in Maharashtra and Gujarat .  More important is that now this software tool has been published on WHO India country's official website and can be accessed by link www.whoindia.org/en/Section2/Section5_1476.htm.

DIC also has completed two projects funded by DSPRUD/World Health Organization :-

·                    Training of General Practitioners on Rational Use of Drugs as intervention to irrational prescribing using Time Series Methodology.

·                     Training of Community Pharmacists on Rational Use of Drugs as intervention to Inappropriate Self-Medication practices

                and lack of Patient Counseling.
